I’M CALIFORNIA STAR CHANEY⭒ 

Born and raised in Los Angeles, I have been a traveler all my life. By the time I was one year old, I had been on 35 flights and visited five countries. Writing has always been my go-to lens — my way of absorbing, engaging and learning about the world, cultures, and art forms that connect us to one another.

During my time at Brown University, I spent a semester abroad at the University of Bologna studying Art History and Cinema, an experience that allowed me to dive into my passion for Italian culture and language. This love affair solidified what I had always known to be true, that exploring the corners of our beautiful planet is exactly where I am meant to be.

In addition to travel, a love of music was instilled in me at a young age as well… my first concert was the ‘95 Rolling Stones show at the Hollywood Bowl at just six months. I went on to pursue a career as a DJ, where I became enthralled with the art of mixing different rhythms together, building energy, and creating unique and unexpected mixes of songs and genres inspired by my travels to music-centric cities.

Travel and music are never without adventure. When I’m not penning tales of faraway places or mixing beats, you can find me on the mountain skiing or hiking, on the dance floor, or in the ocean swimming, surfing, and scuba diving.
